Ibis Styles enters the Metaverse with the launch of its Virtual Art Gallery on Spatial

Ibis Styles has announced its imminent entry into the metaverse, with a virtual art gallery on Spatial.

The establishment of the virtual gallery follows on from recent IRL events at ibis Bangkok Silom and ibis Styles Sevilla, where original and NFT works were created. Open To Creators by ibis Styles is the global campaign that also starts a collaboration with Thai graphic artist @tikkywow and Spanish illustrator @naranjalidad.

Both artists are ambassadors of the ibis Styles contest as ibis Styles Instagram followers can now participate, with a chance to win an NFT created by Naranjalidad, which will be transferred via Opensea. The winner will also receive Gold member status for all ibis Styles loyalty programs.

From today, the NFTs of all the artists associated with the ibis Styles 2022 Open to Creators campaign will be shared in the virtual art gallery in the metaverse, accessible via spatial.io.

Ibis Styles Bangkok Silom

The recently opened ibis Styles Bangkok Silom hosted an IRL art experience in August, with @tikkywow, who created an original artwork now on display alongside his two commissioned works, featured on the first floor of the hotel.

During the same event, an NFT of @tikkywow's work was created for the ibis Styles NFT portfolio and will appear in the newly launched ibis Styles virtual gallery in the metaverse. Other artists featured at the Bangkok event included @jeffaphisit and @ tanstar.artist. Their digital works will also appear in the ibis Styles metaverse gallery available on Opensea.

In September, @naranjalidad led the art process at the opening event of the new ibis Styles Sevilla. Collaborating with Ibis Styles Instagram fans, @naranjalidad has created an NFT that will also appear in the ibis Styles virtual art gallery in the metaverse.

Ibis Styles and WEB3

Hotel brands have already made their presence known in the Web3 space in several ways. In April, Millennium Hotels and Resorts opened a metaverse hotel in Decentraland, while NoMo SoHo offered bookings through NFT in May. In August, proprietary hospitality companies from Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Aria, and MGM Resorts & Casinos filed new Web3 trademark applications highlighting plans for NFT and the metaverse.
