Microsoft's Bing introduces a new AI-powered chatbot feature

Microsoft's Bing has added a new chatbot feature that uses artificial intelligence to answer questions, summarize content and link to additional information. In the article we see the links and access to the Bing search functions with Artificial Intelligence.

The rise of conversational AI

AI has caused waves in many different fields, from pattern recognition in medicine to self-driving cars. Conversational AI is becoming more and more common in everyday life. The new chatbot of Bing is just one example. However, the technology still has limitations, as it relies on crunching data and generating responses based on related words rather than any real understanding of context.

The potential of disinformation

While Bing's new chatbot feature is impressive, users shouldn't depend too much on its responses. Because the technology AI does not understand the veracity of what he is saying, can sometimes give inaccurate information. Experts say you should use the chatbot's responses as a starting point for further research and fact-checking.

The need for collaboration between AI and humans

Since the AI technology As it continues to improve and become more useful in everyday life, it's important to know what it can't do and how it could give you wrong information. Although chatbots based onartificial intelligence as those from Bing can provide useful summaries and links to information, they should be used in conjunction with human research and fact-checking.

To use Bing's new AI with ChatGPT:

  1. You have to open first page by Bing on your browser (click on the link to access the bing chatbot). On the page you will find a new search box that supports up to 1000 characters.
  1. Next, type your search query as you would normally ask a person a question. (If you enter a normal query with keywords, you probably won't see a response from Bing AI. For example, enter a real question like "What do I need to do to install Windows 11 on my computer").
  1. When you start your search, you'll get a typical result with links listed by rank. On the right side, you will now find the Bing AI interface with a more human response with citations of information sources.
  2. If you want to access the chatbot, you can click the button "Let's chat" or on the button "Chat" at the bottom of the search box. If you want to go directly to the chat, you can always click on the "Chat" option on the Bing home page.
  3. You will immediately notice differences from the typical search. (It's like chatting with another person in WhatsApp, Teams)
  1. The pre conversation styledefinish for the chatbot will be set to "Balanced", allowing Bing to respond more neutrally, meaning it will try not to take sides on a specific topic. By swiping the screen slightly up, you can change the pitch to "Creative", and this will generate more playful and original responses, or in "Accurate" to generate the most accurate answer with more facts.
  1. The ChatGPT version of Bing is content aware, which means the AI will remember your previous searches, so you can ask follow-up questions without starting over. In this experience, you can ask questions of up to 2000 characters.
  2. If you want to start a new conversation, forgetting the previous session, click on the button "New topic" (broom icon) next to the box "Ask me anything...", then ask another question.
  3. When you ask a question, Bing's AI will respond accordingly, with bullet points or numbered steps. Depending on the response, you will notice citations with links to the data source. In the response, citations appear as numbers next to specific keywords, but you can view the sources in the footnotes. Also, in the answer, you can hover over the text to show the source for that specific part of the answer. When you hover over the answer, you can click the thumbs up or thumbs down to rate the answer and help the development team improve the service.
  4. If you click on one of the referral links, you will be taken to the website as you would any search result.

And that's how you use Bing AI with ChatGPT, and as you can see, it's different than traditional search. Of course, it's up to you to interact with the chatbot to get the most out of it.
