ChatGPT chatbot statistics in 2023

The ChatGPT innovation chatbot has intrigued and amazed everyone in the world, with a dizzying increase in interest, reaching 100 million active users in just 2 months since its launch.

The resounding success of the ChatGPT innovation has sparked a frenzy of tech giants like Microsoft, Google, Baidu and others to build the most advanced AI chatbot.

Already some universities, large banks and government agencies are trying to restrict the publication of content created with ChatGPT (JPMorgan Chase recently banned its employees from using ChatGPT).

51% of foreign IT leaders “prophesy” that by the end of 2023, humanity will face the first successful cyber attack carried out using ChatGPT.

It seems to me that, first of all, business is developing, the quality of services will increase. People will have access to a completely different source of knowledge (in the late 90s, Google did an excellent job with this task by creating a search engine).

Read on for up-to-date chatbot statistics from ChatGPT.

What is ChatGPT ChatBot

ChatGPT is an AI chatbot that answers questions, develops simple programs, and creates human-like content.

The chatbot understands what users are saying, anticipates their needs and responds precisely to their requests. ChatGPT interacts in conversational mode, so users can feel as if they are talking to a real person.

Access to the ChatGPT chat bot has been opened the November 30 2022

ChatGPT was developed by the American company Open AI , which develops technologies based on machine learning.

How ChatGPT works

ChatGPT answers user questions using the method of deep learning GPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) which processes terabytes of data containing billions of words . The chatbot answers in detail about the topic of the question and accompanies the answer with information gleaned from various sources.

In addition to answering questions, ChatGPT performs creative activities: composes music, writes stories, finds errors in the source code of computer programs.

Unlike other chatbots, ChatGPT remember the tips from previous users and use this information in new replies.

All requests to ChatGPT are filtered through the OpenAI API (this is how the developers reject user requests related to racism, sexism and other potentially dangerous topics).

The existence of the ChatGPT chatbot is inextricably linked to the development of a natural language processing algorithm by OpenAI called GPT .

Language model development

The first version of the GPT-1 generative AI language model was launched on June 11, 2018.

This version was able to create a unique text by itself, processing a large amount of data for the first time: 150 million parameters (models, dependencies, etc.).

GPT-2 appeared in February 2019 and was able to process ten times more data compared to GPT-1: 1,5 billion of parameters.

GPT-3 was launched in 2020 and has managed 116 times more data compared to GPT-2.

GPT-3.5 was released on November 30, 2022 (which is the official launch date of the ChatGPT chatbot).

On March 15, OpenAI introduced GPT-4. Unlike the previous version, GPT-3.5, GPT-4 is able to understand not only text, but also images. GPT-4 is more reliable, more creative, and can handle much more detailed instructions than GPT-3.5.

For example, GPT-4 scored on the bar exam comparable to the top 10% of human participants.

Today GPT-4 is the largest and most advanced language model in the world .

Example of GPT-4 operation. The user uploads an image of the ingredients, asks for suggestions on what can be cooked from them, and receives a list of possible dishes. Then you can ask a question and get a recipe
