ProjectWise fosters the development of data-centric digital delivery and digital twin opportunities

At the Year in Infrastructure 2022 conference, Bentley Systems, Incorporated (Nasdaq: BSY), the infrastructure engineering software company, today introduced Bentley Infrastructure Cloud, a combination of enterprise systems that spans the entire life and the global infrastructure value chain. Bentley Infrastructure Cloud is built on the iTwin platform and Bentley infrastructure blueprints and therefore integrates seamlessly with Bentley's engineering applications. It enables you to improve the creation, delivery and ongoing operation of better infrastructures, thanks to comprehensive and always up-to-date digital twins.

Bentley Infrastructure Cloud

Bentley Infrastructure Cloud includes ProjectWise for project delivery, SYNCHRO for construction, and AssetWise for asset management. These enterprise systems now leverage digital twin technologies, Powered by iTwin, to use data contained in design files through automatic, intrinsic mapping to Bentley infrastructure patterns. By advancing these business systems to become fundamentally data-centric without disrupting file-based workflows, Bentley Infrastructure Cloud provides user organizations with opportunities to improve collaboration, productivity and quality.

Bentley's infrastructure schemes are open and extensible, now connecting reality modeling and IoT devices, and incorporating carbon computing and underground data. Bentley's rich infrastructure schema data representation is useful for exporting Industry Foundation Classes (IFC). The ability to seamlessly share data and enrich it throughout its lifecycle helps engineering firms and owner-operators create and extract more value from their engineering data.

The potential for a unified cloud solution across the infrastructure engineering lifecycle arises from the institutionalized limitations of fragmented information flows that have impeded connections, feedback, analysis, reuse, and knowledge transfer. Bentley Infrastructure Cloud includes an always-on, always-updated and always-accessible data-centric federated environment that maintains and connects engineering data throughout the design, construction and management phases. Information mobility and semantic continuity across traditional boundaries with Bentley Infrastructure Cloud will help accelerate buildability and modular design as well as performance-driven design, among other advances.

Ken Adamson, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Systems at Bentley

“Bentley Infrastructure Cloud represents our commitment to connecting everyone and everything in the infrastructure engineering value chain and extended project ecosystems. Infrastructure professionals deserve an up-to-date digital twin environment for data they can trust and act upon. I believe Bentley Systems is uniquely positioned to meet this requirement due to the combined comprehensiveness of our business systems from ProjectWise, SYNCHRO and AssetWise, the inherent technical accuracy of our software, and our commitment to openness, including our unique determination to integrate semantically the full range of relevant engineering file formats. The iTwin platform has become the solid foundation for unifying our software developments and has proven itself up to this challenge.”
