The model proposed by Campus Peroni stems from the positive results obtained by traceability project in blockchain of 100% Italian malt, a project that Campus Peroni has launched together with pOsti, Xfarm, Hort@, Campus Bio-Medico and EY.
"The objective approach that has been adopted starts from the evidence, from the data through three phases: the tracking of supply chain information, the measurement and analysis of data, and the improvement, going to identify concrete actions that could be implemented by farmers. At present, the first results come from the primary production of barley, where a 27% reduction in CO2 emissions has been recorded thanks to data analysis and a collaboration between the actors of the Peroni Campus and the farmers"
"The approach promoted by Campus Peroni represents a model to follow because it manages to combine sustainability and innovation, putting data and their sharing at the center of everything. The theme represents an opportunity for all companies that decide to invest in this, because by following the path of technological innovation applied to sustainability they become more competitive, even on international markets, and are able to attract young talent more easily. This process, regardless of the size of the companies, should involve all Italian entrepreneurs, because it's not just about doing good, but also about creating development and jobs. From this point of view, the extension of the non-financial reporting obligation to medium-sized enterprises decided by the European Union could represent a further step towards truly sustainable economic development from a social and environmental point of view".
In the transition from the logic of the supply chain to that of an ecosystem made up of collaboration and sharing, the companies of large and small Italian industries play a fundamental role. In the new model, the development of platforms that are no longer vertical but horizontal within which companies can collaborate becomes increasingly important. Katia Da Ros, Vice President of Confindustria, he claims: "Italian industry expresses undisputed leadership at European level in the process of ecological transition, from the circular economy to energy efficiency and the reduction of emissions. The challenge is to prepare the economic and productive fabric to fully enter the new international value chains, trying to position itself in sectors with higher added value and technological content. Italian companies are investing in technologies, skills, innovation and the traceability project for Birra Peroni's 100% Italian malt is an example of this. The key is collaboration, the sharing of ideas and data, with a "horizontal" and no longer "vertical" approach, which brings together the various players involved along the supply chains. In this scenario, the contribution that Confindustria can make is certainly that of "bringing companies together", stimulating an open dialogue between all the players in the system in order to encourage dialogue, the exchange of information and synergy between them, putting focus on the innovations that will contribute most to the evolution in a sustainable key and also to the protection of Made in Italy".
